About

I am a Teacher Librarian from New Zealand.

I first trained as a Secondary School Teacher, teaching English Literature and History to year 9 – 13 students (grades 7 – 12). After seeing how engaging and transformative Inquiry based learning was for my students I began my training as a Teacher Librarian through the post graduate programme run through Auckland College of Education (now Auckland University Department of Education)

I have worked in New Zealand secondary schools as an English teacher and as a Teacher Librarian. 2009 – 2020 I was Teacher Librarian at Istanbul International Community School.

This blog has been created as an online learning journal as I completed Masters studies with Charles Sturt University. I graduated in 2016 with a Masters of Education specialising in Teacher Librarianship.

I returned to New Zealand in 2020 and I am still working with school librarians in my current position. I have only recently returned to the world of blogging.

  2. Thought I’d return the compliment.
Wow I can’t believe the first person to read my blog is from New Zealand and has frequented the East Coast Bays Library.
